day 8

The last day of my stay. I went to this fabric store I saw on Sunday, as it was literally one stop earlier. Took the 26 tram, ride here took a while. It was a sort of discount store where they sell leftovers, but honestly I didn't find anything interesting and it was all overpriced cotton and knits... 50cm pieces were like 100czk even. I found out that there was a proper store from this chain. Unfortunately there wasn't anything else that interested me either. Then I went on the tram to Namesti Republiky, went to a notions store in Palladium as I wanted to see these Rowan yarns they had and other stuff I only see on the internet here. I almost got one to swatch, a mohair cotton blend, but I realized that I won't do anything with it. I don't get the appeal of these expensive yarn brands actually, I just go for Drops which has good price to quality ratio.

I checked if there are any more locations of this chain store, there was one that was in Vinohrady. It was better for me to go to Palladium first as I had a metro station nearby, I could transfer to line A to get out on Namesti Miru.

The store was two level, first one was upholestry fabrics and one in basement was fashion fabrics. Unfortunately, still nothing I wanted to buy. Out of curiosity I checked the envelope pattern catalogue from Burda, there was one I liked but I wouldn't buy it anyway. Probably I'd improvise with other one.

There was another fabric store near it, it was just one corner away. My aunt thought it isn't here anymore but it still was, it was a true independent store with fun fabrics instead of americanized selection of fabrics. There was entire row of suit fabrics, both pure wool and good blends, beautiful coat fabrics, shelves full of silks (for good price, too!) and some linen. It was in 450-560czk territory per meter but they had a perfect deep red linen I wanted. I got 1,3m of it, it was a true old style lightweight linen that wasn't softened later and had this smooth finish. They had few printed ones which had patterns I like and I was looking for but I didn't have more money.

I didn't take a bag to carry my new consoom but luckily my bag still took it inside despite having all of my usual stuff and three cameras here. I went to the historical center again, I wanted to see Parizska street during the day when these designer botiques are open. I finally got, not intended it, in Jozefov which I wanted to visit before. Saw both synagogues here, also there was a group of anglo tourists I passed. Their guide talked in very interesting way about it though, mentioned some interesting facts. Then I went through the center to get on Muzeum to go back. I had a chance to take better pictures of it and I needed to start packing my bags, I wanted to do it earlier with no stress.

I decided to go to the center and walk through the Karluv Must again for last time. I wasn't sure if I'll really go, I went with my aunt to buy some groceries and I waited with her dog for her. I decided to go anyway and I almost missed the bus to Zeliveskho. I got out on Muzeum, the view from the level of the muzeum was so beautiful... It was really nice before it got dark, not a golden hour yet. I walked down the Vaclavac, passed all of these narrow streets, the Old Town Square, more little streets to get on Karluv Must. It was magical... I hope the wish will maybe become true.

I felt hungry and I thought I might buy something to eat but I wasn't in a mood to spend my money in these super tourist trap places. I took the tram to Malostranska to get on the metro back home. I was tired, I put in leftover things into my suitcase before going to sleep.
