On Thursday we went to the Petrin hill. We took a bus to a tram stop where we got on a 22 tram which goes through entire center. When we came to the funicular station there was a queue already, though my aunt told me it can be worse later on. It still was early so it went quickly.
We had to wait for a while at the station, my aunt didn't stand the heat and needed to sit down so staff allowed her to get through the gates to sit down, she talked to one women working here but I forgot about what they talked - she did tell me it was someting related to the funicular, I have hard time remembering it. Station was stuck in the 1970s.
We went trough the gardens to the lookout tower, the tickets were expensive and the lift was additional charge. The view was great though I wish it was cheaper, as we were at the top for like 10 minutes max. There was a girl who looked cool and I complimented her, she was Dutch-Chinese and came with her German boyfriend (a distance relationship?). After coming down I had icecream which surprisingly wasn't that expensive as it costed as much it does in my home city.
Next stop was the mirror maze which was inluded in my ticket, I liked the historical society's installation more than hall with these disortion mirrors. It made my head hurt more and there were too many people here, it all was too loud...
We then wanted to go to the castle though we ended up taking a different route to it. I saw a german zoomer with a boring canon ixus and I can't believe zoomers go for most bland cameras ever. Scalpers will raise prices on everything instead on what will sell instantly due to clueless zoomer girls who won't dig sales sites (girls please stop enabling these men!). The park we went through was really pleasant and quiet, at Raoul Walllenberg's promenade there are many fruit trees. My aunt told me that she likes to go here to pick some pears, also she did have a picnic here with her friends a while ago.
Then we went Strahov Monastery, we stopped here for a bit but didn't go inside. There was a nice vineyard in front of it, around the main gate. I would go see the breweries but maybe next time... We enterred some passageway and got out somewhere in Hradcany, my aunt had to ask a municipal worker how to get to the Hrad. We managed to get here, we didn't go inside either except one church whose name I don't remember... I wish I had a good picture of it.
I ended up spotting another zoomerette with an old digital camera and I talked to her. She and her friend thought my Kyoceras and Ricohs are exotic. I didn't recommend them to them though I doubt they'd get them as Kyoceras are super scalped where they are from (the UK)... these are cameras you have to work with in specific way and she had a over 10mp canon which was way later camera with way better light meter for sure. I despise Canon point and shoots, I had few before and I hated working with them as image I got felt too bland and safe.
We passed through the National Gallery which was another place where I would like to go next time I'll be here. Unfortunately entrance to the Hrad was closed off so we didn't go in and just walked down the stairs to get to the New/Old Town. We passed one church which name I forgot again and tickets were so expensive that my aunt told me it's better to pass it. She told me it was free before... Then we went to sit down in an old hospoda which still has decent prices despite being around so many tourist traps. My aunt got dark beer, I had a coffee with rum which I actually liked.
On the way to the Lennon's wall we went to see the Maltese Order's church, couldn't go inside but it had really pretty interior. Next we ended up at this famed wall in front of the French embassy. There was a group of tourists from my country here, also some teens posed in front of it. It wasn't really that interesting, also there were so many shitty stickers left by Israelis here.
We wanted to get home quickly so we got on a random tram, then it turned out it was going through Namesti Republiky where we got out. I wanted to go to the Palladium mall already and planned it for Friday but ended going day before... I went around but nothing was interesting. I passed a Clinque brand store and I thought they don't have perfumes (as didn't see them on display). I went to a Sephora but I felt it's such overrated store and I feel an average Douglas in my country has more diverse selection of perfumes available.
*When we came back home I ended up going through all albums with my aunt. It was fun to see some photos I didn't see before, also I finally got to know how my aunt ended up in Czechia. She literally ran away at 18 as she was tired of nanying her 4 siblings... In 1976 she met her first husband and I saw some wedding photos we didn't have. I saw photos from her 2nd wedding for first time and all of these vacations she went on with her family in the 90s. It was weird to see photos of my mother when she was around 9-10, there was one passport photo of her here. There weren't much of photos of her before she was a teenager, only some school photos. These later photos were around mostly due to my uncle being interested in photography and developing b&w film and printing photos.
