I ended up going to the library despite that I didn't really plan to, I managed to extend loan for books I borrowed back in November and I borrowed some more. Majority of them is on less dense side, page count wise. I really want to get to know the level of naivete that Olga Tokarczuk has (and her very, very weird philosemitism. I still can't get over a piece she wrote for Twój Styl in 1998, I believe? I need to check back if it's the case. It really shown me scale of how naive about world despite being an adult woman. It was about time when she went to Singapore with her son and of course, had to mention that there are also Jews living here, since I believe it must be a really never ending obsession of hers). So I want to read her debut novel and I know I can except a dense mixture of magical realism historic fiction mixed with bad attempt of copying Lem's writing style. I'll see how it will be like.
On related nore, I'm re-reading Lem's Dziury w Całym, which I read last year, I just wanted to revisit it. I'm drawn to his columns, especially ones that are encompassing broader scope of topics since he drops lots of purple prose-ish tendencies in these, language is really clear. Even though, when I tried to re-read Solaris few months ago, I was surprised that he did write it using more clarified language compared to other works I read before. Maybe I just learned how to read his books? Many people complain about his extremely flowery language full of neologisms which with hard science fiction end up being hard to plough through.
I'm back to taking antibiotic. My period is about to end, hopefully.
