I finally exercised today again! I didn't want to do strenght exercise as I didn't want to bring my laptop into another room and set up everything so I used an elliptical trainer that was at home for ages. It was just less annoying option as I need to download videos I use and convert them into older format to burn them on a DVD and just use DVD player that is connected to a TV in this room. I ended up assembling most ridiculous workout playlist full of early to mid 00s radio pop house, eurovision music and other random things that energized me so well while exercising.
I noticed that now I'm less tired after working out which is great as my condtion is getting better and I have more energy. I never would keep up exercising at least once per week before but now I do. I like how I'm changing for better.
*I finished after the quake today. I want to definitely review it as I don't want just review essays or non-fiction, I want to have some variety. Underground is next in the queue. I might start it even today, after I'll take a shower. After it I'm back at Lem's 90s essays (Tajemnica ChiĆskiego Pokoju) and after that... hmmm. I'll probably refresh my memory of Murakami's trilogy of the rat. I didn't read A Wild Sheep Chase in ages, getting it used isn't worth as translation in my language is out of print for over 10 years. I just hope they'll make a new run of it, as you still can get Hear the Wind Sing / Pinball 1973. From other books... I have also Lem's Summa Technologiae which I always wanted to read but never did. I want to read his more philosophical works before going back to his novels. I have three more collections of his 90s essays on my nightstand now, Solaris and The Cyberiad and a collections of 90s reportages from Gazeta Wyborcza.
I've been reeding more than before, as I realized that I like it a lot. I always liked to read over watching or listening something, my attention span with the written word is longer and better. I read really quickly so watching some video is just a nightmare for me. It's the biggest reason why I don't keep up with any youtubers and I think video essayists too often pad out their videos with bullshit or never get to the point if they are this type of pseudo-intellectual person who wants to LARP as 90s culture or fashion writter for a trendy magazine, but they are 25 years late to the party because they are either late millennials or zoomers.
Well, I said I avoid watching youtubers but sometimes I check on of one girl whose username is Chisom. I found her because someone posted one of her videos on certain ib I visit. I ended up watching her trend videos and I got some language cliches loads of fashion youtubers overuse but her videos were refreshing in some way as she's a bit into weirdo avantgarde fashion hftwt but with really chill, normie vibe...Her recent video about current summer trends made me think again why halter tops that cover more of clevage didn't come back yet. I prefer them to ones popular right now which show off too much for me and I also hate anything backless. She also talked about asymetrical hems... which made me think about one dress I bought for nothing last year, which was so unique. It was cheap and if it got listed this year some teenage scalper would buy it and resell it for 10x more. Some woman of my mom's age sold it and I feel it was too cheap. For a high quality vintage piece that was actually new. Unwashed linen has a very smooth texture... and it was like this.
I ended up going into rabbithole of these trend videos and next in I put on some girl known for these "what fashion students are wearing in (X) city" or something. It was weird to hear her calling linen pants for summer some micro niche trend... these are classic choice, no matter what cut they are. So many classic pieces become somehow a passing trends because of how they change with a warp speed. Kitten heels entered a fashion victim territory, same for point toe which I despise. This season I had hard time finding any square toe pumps and I hated it... I wanted something lower and only brand that has them... I heard that they manufacture these shoes with high price tag in the China. I maybe should stop outraging myself. Though I wanted to write a longer rant, in very own separate section of the site, about trends and acceleration of them, plus classic hating of trends I despise totally.
I genuinely despise trends, trend hopping, current crop of trend forecasters, etc. I only check on them to see what pieces will get scalped hard this season, as stuff from the western youbuters is instantly here. I don't go on vinted anymore as entire experience makes my blood boil. I instantly see these buzzword "aesthetics" spread here and start a new craze of buying worn out things from some other zoomer for too much money. I just want to have my machine fixed and tuned to sew knits better.
Additionally I found a similar model with more function (it has buttonholes! hidden hems and other basic stitches I'm missing as I only have zigzag and straight stitches) and I'm watching the search to find one in my region. I want to test it before paying any money and avoid disappointment.
