I ended up without a sewing machine for a while. Yesterday I thought I'll be able to try out a pattern I wanted to try (I talked about Patrones before in one earlier entry) and I thought at first smallest size should be right for me so I copied it, cut the pattern and then started sewing. I could sew arms together finely... but on side seams stitch lenght changed all the time so finally 2 out 4 sprockets got crushed. It's a common issue with these old machines if they weren't serviced and I didn't got it serviced earlier either as it still was good enough. My mistake. Now I have to wait until it's fixed.
I went to look on a known classifieds portal in my country and tried to find same machine to have a backup one just in case. There was only one listed in my region which is around hour away from me and it's in some small town so I need a car to go here. I didn't got around to getting my drivers licence yet and I could get it only if my parents will go to some physician here. But I don't know when it will be and how long the listing will be active. I've been looking for more modern machine which will be just an additional one for stuff like buttonholes or blind hems. Ms. B before told me to look for older Brothers or Elnas or Berninas (both expensive even used) and I did find a bit older used Brother in my budget for a machine like this. I couldn't find exact one she used before and recommended to me so that model I found seemed interesting... but I couldn't find any infomation on it because of a current model with very similar name unfortunately. I don't know if buying a new one (which on photos already feel so toy-like) would be the same... buuuut 7 automatic buttonhole options plus a small automatic circular hole plus all of these cute stitches that used Brother has feel so tempting.
I went to Ms.B's workshop today to return few Burdas I borrowed from her. She was sewing some clothes she produces for few small brands and I could watch her sewing while we talked. Now I finally know how to sew a slit in a shirt sleeve as I never could understand how it's done based on instructions I've read or seen on the internet which were really, really confusing. When she did it and I could see it in real life... it just made more sense. I can't wait to get back to sewing as I finally want to try to sew a shirt.
*Since I don't have anything to do in the evenings for a while I'm thinking about going back to painting. I want to buy some fresh flowers, I have a nice vase in at home and I could arrange some still lifes I could paint. I have a book I need to read so I'll most likely just push myself to read it to return it soon. I need to get back to exercising... Maybe even do it daily but I'd have to wash my hair daily as I always had terrible hair next day after sweating alot during exercicse. I hate having thin, greasy hair so damn much.
