28th april, sunday

I was in the city today. There was a shitty event going on since friday, it supposedly was a confectionery festival but in fact it was all sorts of random shit. I even saw a weeb-ish stand with cheap Genshin merch for sale. It was hilarious. I had to wait for someone for one hour so I first got some ice cream from other cafe I never went to because they are expensive and I don't get to pet purebreed cats or I can't hide and be invisible like in other cafe I frequent. Then I sat on a bench in town square which got renovated (and literally ruined) few years ago. It felt so shit, I just miss when it was full of trees.

I finally read a book in full for first time in months. Last one I read and finished was Murakami's after the quake which honestly is my favorite from him. I tried to re-read Sputnik Sweetheart and After Dark around same time but I couldn't get to get past first 20 or 30 pages. I used to read and re-read both when I still was in school but honestly I can't stand some of his books now. I wonder how I'll feel about his other 90s and early 00s books. I consider re-reading South of the Border, West of the Sun despite how male and... pornsick it is. But at least Murakami's books have truly beautiful covers in my country. I'll admit I still have my copy of Norwegian Wood despite hating that book with burning passion. I never finished it and I don't think I'll try to read it again. Unless I'll set myself a goal to read all books I bought myself (not much, but I never can get myself to read them).

This now actually unlocked one memory of my high-school literature teacher praising me for reading anything outside of school canon because I've read Murakami. It started when my therapist recommended me Norwegian Wood which I've read quickly until weird sex things appeared. I actually borrowed copy of it from a former classmate who became a massive weeb in 2nd grade of middle school, when before she said she won't ever watch anime. Things changed, it was incredible to see how she changed over all of these years. Then I bought my own copy which I never really read.

I feel less tired after spending a day without being in front of a screen. I can't wait to move out and have a day just for myself.

I checked out two books about knitting stitches and I hope to put up here some of them I liked. I'll post diagrams from the books first, but I hope to replace them with my own swatches soon. I'm trying to use up all of yarn I got in my pile, which I bought to swatch as I need to check my gauge and calculate metrage needed for my projects. I made an raverly account just for the patterns and I found some really nice archival patterns I'll post here for safekeeping. I have some more from old magazines I want to post here too.

I washed good amount of newly hoarded fabrics yesterday. I just have 4 big pieces to wash... I don't think about my drawers with wool fabrics for now. I'll wash them over the summer. I need to stop buying new ones. Just some more I want and anything else, except what I want for certain projects.
